Katekyo Hitman Reborn! - Gokudera

Stained Glass Eyes

Again, this title has no relevance to the post that is about to be typed. XD

I am SO sorry for lack of posting, but I have been going through HELL for the past few weeks.
I just found out that I can't go on the class trip in two months, two of my BEST friends are leaving my school because of a stupid lie that one of the professors made, and I just really need to get out of town for a bit to clear my head.
Since I'm not going on the trip in December, I might ask my mom if I can stay with my aunt in Myrtle Beach for a few days. That's probably my best chance of getting a clear head.
I just really am out of it lately; I don't feel like myself at all.

Anywho, I went to the movies this past weekend and saw the movie WHIP IT that starred Ellen Page and it was AMAZING!!
I loved every minute of it, and I actually want to see it again. XD
For those that don't know, it's all about roller derby. I had actually wanted to learn how to play roller derby before I saw the movie, but now I'm absolutely postitive that I want to learn. It is probably the most brutal sport created (yes, even more brutal than soccer . . . and I'm using my English terms again so in America it would be football), it is crazy how many horrible injuries you can get from this sport.
I still want to play though!
That's wierd for me considering that I'm not a sporty person at all. Maybe I'm just attracted to the family aspect that it has to it. I know that's how it is for me and cosplay. When you are surrounded by people who all share a similar interest, it just feels like a huge family.

Well, I guess that is all for now loves.
This is RitsukaRiot out. =]

Bright Eyes And Varyng Shades Of Blue. . .

Sorry for all of my lack of posting LJ, but I've been in school and really busy with assignments. I actually want to do well this semester.

Well, I said that I would draw this picture about two months ago and I finally got around to it last night.

I was sooooo happy with the finished product and Stepahnie loved it too. =D

In other news about two weeks ago I went to a local anime convention with a few friends.
Librari-con was amazing!!! I ended up leaving with more friends then I came with.

And oh, all of the inside jokes from the convention, lol.
I actually went in a fairly accurate cosplay this time around. I was Badou Nails from Dogs: Bullets and Carnage.
Only without the cigs, the guns, or the red hair, lol.

I'm working on saving up to go on my class trip in Dec./ Jan.
We're going to Orlando over New Year's, and it will be awesome going to all of the parks with my friends.

And stalking Goofy. I MUST stalk Goofy.
Revenge for Goofy stalking me the last time I went to Disney.

I recently got my hair cut and dyed and it is EPIC!!!
All of my friends say that I either look like Sasuke from Naruto or that I look like a sceneboy.
I don't care though. I love it. <3

Well, that's all for now LJ.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower?

I'm in the mood to reread the book The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Too bad I don't own a copy of it. Thus I am making do with looking up quotes online. Upon doing this I found a poem that appears in the book. I can't remember the name, and I haven't found the name of it either. But I'm posting it on here, so that other people can read it.

Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Chops"
because that was the name of his dog
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year that Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And he let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
valentine signed with a row of X's
and he had to ask his father what the X's meant
And his father always tucked him in bed at night
And was always there to do it

Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Autumn"
because that was the name of the season
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because of its new paint
And the kids told him
that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister got glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
And the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to go see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him in bed at night
And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it.

Once on a paper torn from his notebook
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Innocence: A Question"
because that was the question about his girl
And that's what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
and a strange steady look
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because he never showed her
That was the year that Father Tracy died
And he forgot how the end
of the Apostle's Creed went
And he caught his sister making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
or even talked
And the girl around the corner
wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three A.M. he tucked himself into bed
his father snoring soundly

That's why on the back of a brown paper bag
he tried another poem
And he called it "Absolutely Nothing"
Because that's what it was really all about
And he gave himself an A
and a slash on each damned wrist
And he hung it on the bathroom door
because this time he didn't think
he could reach the kitchen.

I hope that you enjoyed this poem. And hopefully, you might pick up a copy of the book.

Smoke and Dynamite

The title of this blog has almost no relation to the content of this post.

I was telling myself all summer that I was going to post a ton on LJ, but I guess that idea crashed and burned a bit. I did make a new 'zine'-esque account called [info]therawedge where I will speak my mind on a few topics.
I'm kind of rushing this right now in case you can't tell. I have to go to a doctor's appointment in less than an hour. XD
I'm currently working like crazy to finish my Gokudera cosplay. I can get away with the clothes for a while since we would wear a lot of the same things, but I really need to get a wig for him. That sounds easier than it actually is though.
I'm working on a fanfiction as well at the moment. It's a Katekyo Hitman REBORN! fic that centers around the pairing 8059. Gokudera and Yamamoto are just too good together.
School starts for me in exactly two days. I am totally excited to see all of my friends again, but at the same time I don't want summer vacation to end. Especially since that means I'm just that much closer to Librari-con, and I am nowhere near where I want to be on my cosplay. >>
Well, I have to end this here for now because I have to leave for my appointment now.

Just A Quick Advertisment

I just wanted to make this a quick post to advertise my new review site. I'll be reviewing everything from music to books.
Well, it's not gonna be all reviews. I'll be writing articles with my views on things that I feel will be important.
I'm going to try to get interviews as well. =]
My first review will be of Ballads of Suburbia by Stephanie Kuehnert, and it will be released about a week before the book is released which is July 21, 2009.

You can find my reviews at [info]therawedge.
I hope to see you all there. >3

Oh, The Magical Joys of Summer.

So far this summer has been pretty crazy for me LJ, therefore I am sorry for my lack of posting.

I just wanted to do a quick little update, and tell you what is going on in my life.
My phone has become demonic so I am getting a new one which should be here tomorrow. =3

I am currently working on editing my review of Ballads of Suburbia for Steaphanie, and I am also working on some fanart to go with it.
[I'm still working on getting you down here Steph. =D]

Other than that, I am going to get my hair cut/dyed next month.
IT WILL BE EPIC!!!!!

My aunt said that she might take me to get some piercings. Not sure what piercings I'll get yet, but I still have some time to figure it out.
Speaking of my aunt, she might be taking me to Warped Tour when it comes around in July.
Totally stoked about that!

Well that is all for now. Laters LJ.

LOL WHAT!?

Hey there all you LJ-ers.
RitsukaRiot here, and it's been a while since my last post. Sorry. I'm just a lazy mofo, but I posting now so STFU!?!

I'm like super fucking happy because I got a ton of anime from Big Lots for super fucking cheap. XD
Yeah, that's what I've been doing with my time since I got out from school last week.
I've been watching tons and tons of anime.
Also, I am now OBSESSED with House. <3
Sad thing is that I have a very simmilar personality to House, lol.

. . .
I am a BEAST!
And you know it's true, lol.
As you can tell. This post is totally crack, and random. >.<

So yeah. That's all.
Just wanted to do an update so that you knew that I wasn't dead or anything, lol.

Later!

OMNOMNOM!!!

Hey LJ, RitsukaRiot here, obviously. >>

I can't sleep. It is currently 1AM my time, and It's a school night. Worse yet, it's exam week.
KILL. ME. NOW!!!

Anywho, I'm trying to transfer all of the files from my old computer onto tons, and tons of discs. >>
And ALL of my music refuses to go onto the discs. That is over 19GB of awesome music!!!
Emo cornner time.
x-----c--u--t--h--e--r--e-----x

Lol, not really. XD

Trying to give that up. ^^;
Anyways, that totally pissed me off. At least I can remember where I got most of my really hard to find J-music. You know J-Rock, J-Pop, Visual Kei, and all of that good anime and video game music, but all of the rest is going to be so hard to find. >>
Oh well, things happen for a reason.
I mean, I had to go through and get rid of the stuff I didn't listen to anymore anyways. XD

Gah, I can't believe that summer break starts at the end of the week!
I really want to my Aunt's house for the summer!
She lives within walking distance from the beach. I could care less about the beach though, lol, what I care about is the mega teen hangout at the beach. The Pier and The Arcade.
The Arcade is the daytime hangout, and we all move over to The Pier when they they shut down for the night.
It's so awesome, especially when I stay with just my aunt because she lets me stay there for HOURS while she just stays at home. XD
You can meet some really awesome people there.
I usually end up hanging with all of the skaters, emos, and punks, lol. ><
My mom would die if she knew though. XD

Speaking of my Aunt, I think that I'm going to ask her to take me to get snakebites for my belated birthday present.
She's the only person in my family who is actually chill enough to take me to get piercings, lol.
I might ask her to let me get my ears pierced while I'm at it. >3

Well I think that's about it, haha. I think I will end this post with an epic vid that I can't stop watching. ;p
Later!

Random Thoughts and What-Not

Hey there LJ!
I don't have class today, so I figured that I would post a new little entry. =]

This is mainly going to be some random stuff that I ramble on about, but I might get my friends to add something to this entry. If they do, I'll make what they write a different color. =D
Now, ON TO THE RANDOM!!!!

For my English class we can do this extra credit project about any book written in America, and we can do up to three projects.
For mine, I will be doing video of a scene from three different books.
The first will be from the Maximum Ride series, and I will be Fang and type up a blog/e-mail or whatever. It's from the third book.
Anywho, Captain is going to help me out by playing Iggy and I'm not sure who will be playing Gazzy in the scene yet.
The second one I think is going to be from the book Beautiful City of the Dead, and I still trying to figure out what scene to do. I know that I'll end up playing either Relly or Zee for sure though. I might have to get Jessica to help out with that one as well. ^^;
The last one is going to be a big group effort and we will be doing a scene from Marked. It's going to be one from the end, where they all form a circle.
I get the be my favourite character, Damion (sp?), he's just your typical, everyday gay vampire fledgling. >3

Hmmm, what else is there that I can ramble on about. I still have over an hour left to kill.

Heh. I've been having som major OCD Death the Kid moments lately. XD

Death the Kid for the win. ^.~

Ah, I must inform you as well. You Just Lost The Game Pro might not be able to make it to Animazement this year. We haven't been able to come up with the funds at all, and yeah, we don't even have our cosplays done. >>

Now that we're off of that note, here is a message from Captain. =]

MUWAHAHAHHA HAHAHAH AND A TEE HEE HEE
:3
CAUSE I B AMAZIN'
(and i'm a straight up G yo~)

And there is that. XD

Well, I think that I will end this amazing post of posts here for now.
I'll probably end up posting something later. >>

Barefoot Gen and Other Thoughts

I just finishes watching the anime Barefoot Gen, which was made in 1983 I believe.
Barefoot Gen is actually a story about the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan on Aug 6, 1945, and it was written by a man who actually survived the bombing. In fact a lot of the things that happened to the main character Gen, happened to the man who created it.
I was really moved by this movie because the depictions of what happened were so graphic that you know no one would ever be able to imagine it.
And the sadest part about this movie is that the only one I felt sorry for was a random dog that melted. >>

Now for the fore mentioned thoughts.
I've been debating about something lately and it just won't leave my mind.
I think that I might want to minor in Japanese studies. Not the language alone, but the culture and history as well. I can't help it. I am just absolutely obsessed with Japan!
Too bad that where I'm living now is pretty much anti-asian or something. I mean, even the chinese resturant isn't really chinese. It's run by mexicans. XD
Haha, ok so that isn't really anti-asian, but you get the point!

Lately I have become a major Twitter user, and you know how it's extremely popular? Well apparently no one at school uses it, or even knows what it's for. >_<

Well, this is Ritsuka out for now.

Memoirs of a Geisha

I just finished watching the movie for the first time, and I must say that the cinematography was absolutely breath taking.

Now for all of those who actually read my blog know that I am absolutely obsessed with Japanese culture, so of course I loved this movie despite the fact that the lead was done by a Chinese woman.

After watching the movie, I really want to read the book that it was based upon. I think that a trip to amazon.com is in order. XD

A Quick Thought

Okay, so I don't have much time to write anything because I'm supposed to be getting ready for school, but this couldn't wait.

I had a seriously freaky dream last night. I mean really freaky, and I think that I'm going to write it down, and sort of mold it into a story.
That's about all I actually have time to say. ^^;

Awesome Tunes

I was looking on Youtube.com, and found that they just released the new PV for the song 「Safe and Sound」by Kyosuke Himuro ft. Gerard Way.
It's the new theme song for the movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, and in my opinion it is way better than the last one. XD
They decided to revamp the movie a bit for its Blu-ray re-release, thus new song.
Well hope you enjoy it. >3

Things Get Boring . . .

When you bring the wrong books for your class. XD

That's what holidays do to me though, and there's nothing I can do about that fact now. >>
I came to the computer lab for lack of anything to do without the correct readng material for my class. That explains this entry in full pretty much.

Besides my moment of stupidity, I will tell you about my opinion on a subject that I haven't talked about in a while. Anime.

The new Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime is really good so far. Of course that's not saying a lot considering the fact that there have only been two episodes released as of yet.

I have also seen a few clips from the new dubbed version of the D.Gray-man anime, and I have to say that it sucked horribly. They picked the wrong actors for the roles. The soul exception of that was the voice of Komui. He fit the character pretty well.

And on to more of my otaku rantings, I am almost finished with Final Fantasy X. I think that it is now one of my favourite games. EVER!
It's also encouraged me to look into purchasing other games in the Final Fantasy series as well.

Well that is all that I can say for now. I have to head over to lunch in a few minutes.

Until my next post, this is RitsukaRiot out.

Everyone Deserves An Education

Hey guys! So I know that it's been a while since I've last posted, but I just wanted to tell you a bit about this program that I've come across recently.

So it's called Turning Points, and it's a way to give low-income children a way to get low-cost tutoring that is just as good as what high-income families can afford.
Here is a better description.

Tipping Points Test Prep
Greg Lowe (Greater Philadelphia-Camden Corps ’05) is the founder of Tipping Points Test Prep, an organization that provides high-quality, low-cost tutoring and test preparation services to at-risk, underprivileged youth to help them access college and higher education opportunities. Compared to for-profit models like Kaplan, Greg’s approach will only charge $50 per student for a 12-week tutoring course, but still attract high-quality tutors by paying them at the same rate as Tipping Points’ for-profit competitors. By helping erase part of the resource gap between low-income youth and their more affluent peers, Tipping Points hopes to play a role in closing the achievement gap.

Now, go vote for them to win a $25,000 grant to help with their costs!
www.rugby.com/newsroom/blog_post.aspx

And when you're done voting be sure to go post a comment on <lj user=writerstephanie>'s blog to be in the running to win an ARC of her next book Ballads of Suburbia.
(And be sure to say that Ritsuka sent you!)
